The UN Commissioner of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), Philip Lazarini, confirmed today, Friday, that the destruction of refugee camps launched by Israel in the West Bank has turned into the largest displacement of the Palestinians since the 1967 war.

Lazarini wrote on his page on the social networking site “X”: “The demolitions of the systematic and wide -ranging homes have an unprecedented impact on the lives of Palestinian refugees in the region … Refugee camps in Jenin, Tulkarm and Nour Shams have almost, with widespread destruction of civil infrastructure, including homes.”
He added: “People are now facing the possibility of no place to return to it, this process is the longest and destructive since the second intifada, which resulted in the largest displacement of the Palestinians in the West Bank since the 1967 war,” noting that about 40,000 people were forced to leave their homes in the West Bank.
