Washington reveals its demands from Damascus before changing its position on the sanctions – the seventh day

The United States has publicly defined the steps that Syria wants to take before Washington changed its position towards it, while the Syrian Foreign Minister called for strict sanctions on his country.

Reuters reported in March that Washington handed over a list of conditions demanding that it be implemented in exchange for a partial reduction in the sanctions.

Dorothy Xia, the US delegate to the United Nations, announced these conditions in public.

She said that the United States wants the Syrian authorities to completely reject terrorism and suppress it, adopt a policy not to attack neighboring countries, remove foreign terrorist fighters from any official roles, prevent Iran and its agents from exploiting Syrian lands, destroying weapons of mass destruction, and helping to restore American citizens disappeared in Syria, and ensuring security and freedoms for all Syrians.

“The United States continues to monitor the actions of the interim authorities, and its procedures will be determined based on its pattern of behavior. The basic leadership must exceed its past,” Xia told the Security Council, which consists of 15 members.

She continued: “We are waiting for Syria to hold all those responsible for the coast events to confirm that no one is above the law.”

She concluded by saying: “The countries should accelerate the deportation of their citizens from the ISIS in Syria, and our central leadership will remain ready to return any terrorist act by ISIS and coordinate with Qasd.”
