Sultan of Oman: Omani -Russian talks focused on building solid relations between the two countries – the seventh day

The Sultan of Oman, Haitham bin Tariq, affirmed that his discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin focused on building strong, good relations between the two countries during the last period, as the two countries complete 40 years on the establishment of diplomatic relations, and they seek to make these relations distinct and useful that serve the interest of the two friendly peoples.

The Sultan of Oman – according to the Omani News Agency reported on Tuesday – praised his meeting with a group of businessmen from the Russian Federation, stressing that he touched their interest in developing this relationship in the fields of energy, agriculture and trade, as many of them started exchanging visits and opening commercial offices, expressing the aspiration of the Sultanate of Oman to increase its investments in the Russian Federation, and the Omani Investment Authority has started communicating with the Russian concerned authorities.

He also expressed, at the end of his speech, his thanks and appreciation to the Russian officials who visited the Sultanate of Oman during the last period, expressing his hope that officials in the Sultanate of Oman continue to visit Moscow.

In turn, Russian President Vladimir Putin welcomed Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, in the Russian capital “Moscow”, noting that the Sultan made several visits to Russia, where he signed in 1985 the agreement on establishing diplomatic relations between the two friendly countries.

He added that the two friendly countries share a good history and a busy record of continuous communication, confirming the elaboration of a package of agreements that would form additional momentum to consolidate the legal foundations of bilateral relations and that there is a lot of work to develop trade relations between the two countries, in the field of mutual investments, transit, transport and agriculture, especially since Russia exports agricultural products and foods to the Sultanate of Oman.

He emphasized the interest of Russian companies to develop cooperation in the fields of energy with the Sultanate of Oman, noting the discussion of practical issues during today’s negotiations and the close cooperation between the two foreign ministries in the two countries, adding that “his country is in the process of organizing the Russian -Arab Summit, which has the support of friends in the Arab world.
