Rashid calls Muqtada al -Sadr to refrain from a previous decision because the danger is threatening Iraq – the seventh day

The President of the Republic of Iraq, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, the leader of the Shiite National Movement, Muqtada al -Sadr, called for the decision not to participate in the upcoming elections.

Rashid warned that the danger “threatens the countries of the region, led by Iraq.”

In a letter to Muqtada al -Sadr, dated (April 16, 2025), the Iraqi president stated that “a political process in which the Shiite National Movement remains remains incomplete,” at the same time, at the same time that “no one denies the delay that has affected the process of building, construction and renaissance for several reasons that are not hidden.”

According to the President of the Republic, the reasons are: “The lack of experience, the outbreak of corruption, and the unqualified confrontation of some leadership positions.”

He pointed out that the country needs to complete the state building project, saying: “There is no alternative to the completion of the project that you started with all faith and political movement after the year 2003.”

Muqtada al -Sadr announced on (27 March) the decision not to participate in the elections, saying: “As long as corruption exists, I will not participate in a lame electoral process that has nothing but interests, sectarianism, ethnicity and partisanship far from the suffering of the people and the disasters that are going on in the region.”

The leader of the Shiite National Movement forbade the popular rules for voting and nominating in the elections for a “subsidy for sin”. However, in his message, the President of the Republic considered that Iraq is “awaiting the efforts of all the loyal to its children” and that the people “are looking forward to a parliamentary council that promotes its needs.” He pointed out that there are parties that are still “lurking to restore dominance or to disrupt the path correction,” he stressed that “the opportunity to aim is still in place and awaits the efforts of the loyal.”

Abdel -Latif Rashid dealt with the repercussions of the withdrawal of the deputies of the chest from the fifth parliamentary session, saying that this decision “led to a political vacuum that contributed to the complexity of the scene,” adding that the balance within Parliament cannot be achieved without “the participation of all the active mass currents and directions.”

He stressed that “the House of Representatives is the true field of correction”, calling for parliament “a yard for participation and evaluation, not distance and retreat.”

The President of the Republic of Iraq said that “the return of the National People’s Movement to exercise its political role has become a necessity to ensure correction and correct the path of legislation and services,” adding that “the voices of your honest people are able to demand rights and correct errors.”

He warned that “any political event in which the popular national trend remains incomplete,” at the same time, warning of “the danger of the external influence and foreign intervention” that cannot be overlooked.
