Ambassador Ahmed Rashid Khattabi, Assistant Secretary -General, Head of the Media and Communication Sector at the Arab League, stressed that the Palestinian issue remained for decades at the center of the interests of the League of Arab States in support of its legitimacy in various forums, especially at the United Nations and forums of dialogue with countries and similar organizations on the path of empowering the Palestinian people to embody their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Khattabi said in a statement today, Monday, “80 years have passed since the establishment of the League of Arab States as a regional organization seeking to extend bridges of cooperation between member states, maintaining their sovereignty and settling conflicts in friendly means, and serving the goals of peace, security and joint development.
He added that from the beginning, the university was keen to support the Arab countries that were still under occupation and struggled for liberation and independence in cooperation in particular with the “Arab Maghreb Office” in Cairo, which included a group of Maghreb national figures.

He continued: “The Arab League is a real mirror of the Arab reality with its complexities, contradictions, hopes and aspirations, and a fortification to protect the higher Arab interests, and to value the cultural and cultural heritage of the Arab world and its human and development qualifications.
He pointed out that the crises and facts showed that the strength of the Arab League lies primarily in the strength of its countries and the extent of their support for them and the commitment to decisions and directions of decision centers to implement and follow -up from the General Secretariat.

He noted the Arab League’s keenness to harness its regulatory capabilities and suggestion to coordinate policies, legislation and regulations in various areas of joint Arab cooperation in line with the deep developments that the world witnessed and in an effort to achieve the desired regional integration.

He added, “We live in the time of artificial intelligence, innovation, technological and cognitive development, the challenges in front of the League of Arab States may be more difficult than what the matter requires the need to accelerate the paths of integration and achieve more interaction with Arab issues and keep pace with initiatives aimed at advancing sustainable development paths, and establishing the elements of good governance and the rule of law and fighting extremism in all its forms.
My speech concluded his statement by saying: “On the 80th anniversary of the establishment of this interesting organization, we confirm that we are all in one boat and we will only reach safety in the collective will and the steadfast solidarity and the fulfillment of the spirit of the charter and renewed reform of its performance according to an effective and sober vision.”
