52 civilians were killed and 900 homes were burned in a series of rapid support attacks on Umm Kadada – the seventh day

The Rapid Support militia launched a series of attacks on Umm Kadada locality in North Darfur state, for 3 days, which killed at least 52 civilians, and burned 900 homes, after the militia invaded the city of April 10.

For their part, the emergency lawyers said in an official statement: “Rapid support attacked Umm Kadada and liquidated 52 civilians inside the city, as well as stormed the local hospital and assaulted the patients and executed the medical staff.”

The statement accused the rapid support of carrying out large burnings of homes and looting of property, and pointed to the loss of dozens of civilians, in addition to cases of mass exodus.

For its part, the International Immigration Organization reported the flight of 240 additional families from Umm Kadada, on Saturday, due to clashes between rapid support and tribal groups.

She pointed out that the new displacement comes after 3,500 families escaped from the city in conjunction with the rapid support attack on April 10, and the organization said that about 900 homes were burned in the city where the situation is still tense.

The Shawqara forces, a tribal basis group that found support from the army, imposed its control of Umm Kadada in February 2024 after the rapid support forces were removed from the area, and they also succeeded in repelling their many attacks before attacking more strongly and controlling the city, according to the Sudan Tribune newspaper.
