Tunisia: The release of a number of Russian citizens after the fall of the suspicion of terrorism from them – the seventh day

Local Tunisian media confirmed that the investigating judge of the judicial pole to combat terrorism in the capital decided to release 11 of the detainees with Russian citizenship.

The sources indicated that the Russian citizens were seized in an isolated military area in the direction of Hydra, from the governorate of Kasserine, due to suspicion of joining a terrorist organization.

According to the same sources, the decision to release them was following a number of research and artistic works authorized to judicially, which denied the terrorist suspicion against them.

Last March, the relatives of one of the arrested Russians told “Novosti” that communicating with the group was very difficult, and there was almost no information about them.

In its response, the Russian embassy in Tunisia told the agency that the health condition of the Russians was good, and there were no complaints about the conditions of detention.

At the end of January, the Russian embassy in Tunisia reported that the detained Russians are being held in five penal institutions in the country – three in Al -Marniqi prison, two in Al -Balihi, three in Burj Al -Amri, two in Odenah, and a single Russian citizen held in the women’s prison in Manouba.
