Syria and South Korea declared the establishment of diplomatic relations for the first time – the seventh day

The authorities in Syria announced that they signed an agreement with South Korea to establish diplomatic relations for the first time, as it is planned to exchange the opening of the embassies between the two countries.

A statement by the Syrian Foreign Ministry stated that Minister Asaad Al -Shaibani “received a high -level delegation from the Republic of South Korea, headed by his counterpart, Chu Tai Yol.”

Syrian President Ahmed Al -Shara also received Chu, according to a presidential statement.

The Foreign Ministry statement added that the two parties agreed to “open the embassies and exchange diplomatic missions for the two countries.”

He stressed that this step comes within the framework of efforts to “restore the pioneering role in the region and the world of the Syrian Arab Republic, which it lost due to the policies of the previous regime.”

The Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs also said that the two countries signed in the Syrian capital, Damascus, an agreement to establish diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Syria had good relations with North Korea under the rule of Bashar al -Assad, which was overthrown last December.
