The Palestinian Red Crescent opens the vaccination and follow -up services in its central clinics – the seventh day

The First Care Department of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society announced the start of providing mother and child health services officially in a number of clinics affiliated with the association in the Gaza Strip, and these services include providing periodic vaccinations within the national program, following up the course of pregnancy, postponing postpartum sponsorship, child health care and family organization.

This step comes within the framework of the efforts made to enhance the health status of mothers and children, prevent the outbreaks of epidemics and maintain the continuity of basic services in light of the current conditions.

Dr. Mohamed Abu Rahma, Director of the Primary Care Department at the association, stressed that the five clinics that were approved to provide the services of the mother and child, and were equipped with all the necessary supplies, including the refrigerators designated for preserving vaccines, in a manner that ensures the quality of the service and its continuation as required.

He pointed out that the association was keen to choose a group of the most efficient doctors, midwives, and nursing specialized in primary care, to ensure the provision of integrated and safe health care.

Dr. Abu Rahma pointed out that the approved clinics for the service of the service include the Rafah branch (Khirbet Al -Adas), Al -Mawasal Clinic in Khan Yunis, Fathi Arafat Center in Deir Al -Balah – Al -Nakheel District, Olive Clinic in Al -Barham area, and the association’s branch in Jabalia – Zamo.

He pointed out that the branch of the association in Rafah has temporarily stopped providing service due to the security conditions resulting from the ongoing military operation in the region.

The start of the field work came after the implementation of the theoretical training that lasted for a period of three days, which was held in Al -Quds Hospital in Gaza City and Al -Amal Hospital in Khan Yunis, where medical teams received specialized training and nurses about the latest methods of vaccination, mother and child health, and nutritional care, which contributes to enhancing their professional capabilities and improving the quality of health services provided.

Within the framework of practical application, the vaccination teams of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society began their field work on Wednesday, within the training and community crowd program, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health teams and UNICEF.

The first activities have been implemented in clinics close to shelter and displacement centers, where children’s vaccination services were provided according to the routine table, medical examinations, nutritional survey, and the provision of necessary care for pregnant and lactating women, as well as vaccination of school students.

These field activities continued today, Thursday, in the branch of the association in Deir Al -Balah, where the same health services were provided to mothers and children in the region, within an integrated framework aimed at reaching the largest possible number of beneficiaries, especially in areas that lack permanent health services.

Dr. Abu Rahma stressed at the conclusion of his statement that the association seeks through this program to meet the needs of mothers and newborns, and to ensure the continuity of basic services, in light of the great challenges facing health institutions in the sector, stressing the association’s commitment to enhance the resilience of the Palestinian society healthy and human.
