Ambassador Hussein Haridi: The introduction of aid to Gaza on the list of Egypt’s priorities – the seventh day

Ambassador Hussein Haridi, the former assistant foreign minister, confirmed today, Wednesday, that Egypt is working on urgent priorities, the most important of which is the reopening of the crossings with the Gaza Strip and the resumption of the introduction of humanitarian aid to the Strip.

“There are extensive Egyptian efforts being made to work to reopen the crossings and resume the introduction of aid to the Strip to lift the suffering of the Palestinian people in Gaza,” Haraidi said, stressing the importance of finding a political solution to settle the Palestinian -Israeli conflict.

In response to a question about what the recent talks between Foreign Minister Badr Abdel -Ati and the American envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkeov said, Ambassador Haridi said: “This contact took place after the meeting that brought together US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the White House during which it was agreed to start entering humanitarian aid even if it was under the control of the Israeli army, as official Israeli sources announced during the past days.”

Ambassador Hussein Haridi explained that, during the phone call, Foreign Minister Badr Abdel -Ati expressed the American envoy about Egypt’s aspiration to enhance coordination with Washington on achieving peace in the region.

The former Assistant Foreign Minister pointed to the importance of the phone call that took place between President Abdel Fattah El -Sisi and his French and Jordanian counterpart yesterday, Monday, with the American President to put the basic elements of the solution in the Gaza Strip before President Trump, stressing the need to take serious steps during the coming period in order to start developing solutions in the medium and long -term term for the situation in Gaza, especially after a clear vision of the joint Arab Islamic initiative before President Trump.
