Palestine demands the United Nations to assume its responsibilities towards protecting UNRWA schools – the seventh day

The Palestinian Council of Ministers called on the United Nations to assume its legal and moral responsibilities towards protecting the institutions of the UNRWA (UNRWA) institutions in Jerusalem, in the wake of the occupation authorities issuing a military order to close the agency’s girls ’school in Shuafat camp within 30 days.

The Council indicated – at its weekly session today, Tuesday, according to the Palestinian News Agency (Wafa) – that this came after the occupation had previously closed other schools in Silwan, Wadi Al -Jawz, and pictures of Baher, in an open attempt to empty Jerusalem from its educational and service institutions, and impose new facts on the ground that violate international law and international legitimacy decisions.

The Council affirmed its continuation of its intensive movements and efforts with the various international parties, to stop the systematic crimes committed by the Israeli occupation authorities, especially in light of the escalation of the continuous genocide in the Gaza Strip, targeting the tents of the displaced, press crews, and humanitarian teams, in parallel with the acceleration of Judaization and annexation projects, and the escalation of settlers’ attacks in the West Bank, including occupied Jerusalem.

The Palestinian Council of Ministers stressed that international political statements and positions rejecting the violations of the occupation are no longer sufficient, and the occupation authorities did not deter their crimes, noting that the gravity of the Israeli aggression imposes on the international community to get out of the circle of silence, and take tangible steps, foremost of which is the activation of international accounting tools, and an end to the impunity of the occupation system.
