UN officials appeal to world leaders to move urgent to save the Palestinians in Gaza – the seventh day

High -level Umayyad officials appealed to the world leaders to move – strongly, quickly and decisive – to ensure respect for the basic principles of international humanitarian law, with the continued Israeli siege on Gaza for the second month .. They stressed the need to protect civilians, facilitate the arrival of aid, release the hostages and renew the ceasefire.

In a joint statement – according to the United Nations Media Center, today, Tuesday – UN officials warned of the negative impacts due to no commercial or humanitarian supplies to the Gaza Strip for more than a month, and they said that more than 2.1 million people are trapped and are exposed to bombing and starvation again, while foodstuffs, drugs, fuel, shelter supplies and vital equipment are accumulated.

UN reports indicate the death or injury of more than two thousand children in the first week alone after the ceasefire collapsed, which is the highest weekly outcome of the victims of children in Gaza during the past year.

UN officials reported 25 baked bakeries supported by the World Food Program during the ceasefire to the closure due to lack of flour and cooking gas.

They pointed out that the health system, which works partially suffers from tremendous pressure, runs out of basic medical supplies and the supply of treatment of infections quickly, which threatens the opposite of progress that has been difficult to maintain the operation of the health system.

During the 60 days, the UN officials said, “We managed to deliver vital supplies to most of Gaza, which prevented the bombing, restrictions and looting for 470 days of the war.”

Although this provided a short period of rest, the assurances of the existence of enough food now to feed all Palestinians in Gaza are far from reality on the ground, as Umayyad officials said, and the stocks are decreasing sharply … and they added: “We are witnessing in Gaza war works that show a complete disregard for human life.”

UN officials said the new Israeli displacement orders forced hundreds of thousands of Palestinians to flee again, without a safe place they would go to. “No one is safe. At least 408 humanitarian workers have been killed, including more than 280 UNRWA, since October 2023.”

The Umayyad workers in the humanitarian field confirmed that the Israeli attacks are continuing unabated throughout Gaza, causing massive mass injuries between civilians systematically. They said, “People – including many children – are killed, injured or disabled for life. Survivors are repeatedly gone through Gaza and pushing into a space that is constantly shrinking, as their basic needs cannot be simply met.”

In general, humanitarian workers estimated that nearly 400,000 people have been displaced again since the ceasefire collapsed. This represents 18 percent of all Palestinians in Gaza.

“There have been no arrangements to ensure their safety and survival – a responsibility for Israel as the occupying power.”

The World Health Organization explained that there is an acute shortage of medical equipment such as ultrasound, oxygen pumps and medicines, as well as 180,000 doses of routine vaccines in Gaza.

“Dujarric” stressed that the United Nations continues to distribute the remaining assistance inside Gaza to the most needy people, “but we cannot continue to do so for a longer period unless the crossings are opened immediately to the goods and humanitarian equipment that will be necessary for people to survive in Gaza.”

The United Nations Office on the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) indicated that all attempts to receive the goods that were entered and revealed in the crossings have been rejected. The Israeli authorities rejected five of nine attempts to coordinate the arrival of United Nations staff. Although the rotation of employees is often facilitated, the delivery of aid is routinely submitted, according to the OCHA office.

Stephen Dujarric renewed the call for the release of all hostages without restriction or condition immediately … and until then, they must be treated with humanity, and Hamas should allow the International Red Cross Committee to visit them.
