The Algerian authorities decided, starting today, Monday, to close their air field in front of all flights coming from Mali or heading to it, against the background of what they described as “repeated breaches” by the neighboring country of the Algerian air field, according to a statement by the Ministry of National Defense.
“Due to the repeated penetration by the state of Mali for our air field, the Algerian government decided to close the latter in the face of air navigation coming from the country of Mali or heading to it, and this starting from the day corresponding to April 07, 2025,” the statement said.
In a statement, a financial Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the withdrawal from the Presidency of the Chiefs of Staff of the Joint Armies with Algeria, claiming that it would drop one of its careers.
The ministry summoned the Algerian ambassador to protest what it claimed to shoot down the reconnaissance plane near the Algerian border.
