Algerian President and President of the Islamic Development Bank discuss ways to enhance joint cooperation – the seventh day

Algerian President Abdel Majid Taboun discussed, in Algiers, with the head of the Islamic Development Bank Group, Dr. Mohamed Suleiman Al -Jasser, the paths of strengthening partnership and cooperation between the two sides.

The meeting, which was attended by the Algerian Minister of Finance and Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Islamic Development Bank for the year 2025, Mr. Abdul Karim Bou Al -Zard, witnessed the discussion of strategic cooperation between Algeria and the Islamic Development Bank, and ways to enhance it.

Al-Jasser- according to a statement issued by the bank this evening, expressed his pride in this meeting, praising the durability of the relations between the Algerian Republic and the bank group, and appreciating the role of the Algerian leadership in supporting the bank’s plans and programs.

Al -Jasser also praised the ambitious development path that Algeria pursues in the framework of the presidential program, highlighting the leading projects and achievements recently achieved in the development of infrastructure, especially the presidential initiatives aimed at expanding the national rail network.

The President of the Islamic Development Bank expressed his gratitude to the Algerian government for hosting the annual meetings of the bank group, which is scheduled to be held in Algeria between May 19 and 22.

The talks also dealt with a number of priority issues, including supporting economic and social development efforts in Algeria, with a focus on financing infrastructure projects, diversifying the economy, and developing human capital, which contributes to promoting sustainable growth.

It is noteworthy that the cumulative total of funding provided by the bank group to Algeria amounted to 2.9 billion dollars, with the bank’s renewed commitment to support the development priorities of Algeria.
