The Palestinian Red Crescent warns of a catastrophic health crisis with the continued siege on Gaza – the seventh day

Today, Sunday, a spokeswoman for the Palestinian Red Crescent, Nepal Farikh, warned of a health and humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, due to the continuous shelling and the lack of medical and food supplies, as a result of the closure of the crossings leading to the Strip for more than a month.

“The conditions are increasing catastrophic at the human and medical levels due to the continued closure of the crossings and the prevention of the entry of aid, which led to the exacerbation of the crisis and suffering in light of the severe shortage of basic life requirements of food and medicines, in addition to the scarcity of drinking water for Palestinian citizens.”

She added that “Gaza Hospitals are now accelerating to continue work, especially with most medical centers and hospitals leaving service as a result of the direct Israeli targeting that affects all aspects of life in the sector,” noting that “many vehicles belonging to the Palestinian Red Crescent have stopped due to the enforcement of fuel, which negatively affected the provision of humanitarian services to citizens in all areas of the sector.”

The spokeswoman for the Palestinian Red Crescent stressed that “the Palestinian Red Crescent crews continue to work on the ground to save lives, but they are also targeted by the occupation army,” at the same time denouncing the deliberate Israeli attack that targeted the civil defense and the Palestinian Red Crescent during their humanitarian duty in Rafah Palestinian.

It demanded that the international community be held accountable for all those involved in this crime, and to start conducting an independent and urgent international investigation that guarantees justice to all victims in accordance with international humanitarian law that provides for the protection of all humanitarian and medical workers at the time of wars.
