The Group of Wise, affiliated with the African Union, continues its consultations with politicians in South Sudan on the last day of its mission in the capital (Juba) in an attempt again to meet the Vice President in South Sudan, Riek Machar.
Radio France International stated – in its African publication – that Ugandan President Yuwairi Musivini concluded yesterday his visit to southern Sudan, during which he met his counterpart Salva Kiir Mayardit and a number of political actors in southern Sudan as well as the Group of the African Union.
The radio indicated that Museveni is one of the guarantors of the Peace Agreement, which was mainly signed by Kiir and his rival Riek Machar in 2018 to end five years of civil war in the country.
There were no many details about the content of the discussions that took place between Uweri Museveni and the characters he met.

The dispute between Salva Kiir and Machar prompted the United Nations to warn that South Sudan may be on the verge of a comprehensive conflict, and the two men led competing forces during the civil war that erupted between 2013 and 2018 and killed hundreds of thousands.
