The Sudanese army continues to achieve significant progress and important victories, by regaining control of vital and strategic places, in the capital, Khartoum, which started with the presidential palace, extending control of the headquarters of the ministries and sovereign government headquarters, and the intelligence service in the capital, and imposing a strict siege on the remaining elements of rapid support. In continuation of the military moves, the army was able to regain control of the Libyan market, which is the largest market of Sudan, and the last stronghold of the Rapid Support militia in the western Omdurman. By controlling the Libyan market, the Sudanese armed forces began to encircle the rapid support militia in the neighborhoods of Ambda and the villages of West Omdurman, and the validity of and Dar Al -Salam in the south of the city. Brigadier Nabil Abdullah, a spokesman for the army, said in a brief press statement, “Our forces have extended their control over the Libyan market in Omdurman.” He pointed out that the army seized weapons and equipment that were left by rapid support during the flight of its elements from the market. The army also imposed its control on the Libyan market and the locations near it, including the head of a local police.
