Saudi Statistics: The unemployment rate in the last quarter of 2024 decreased to 3.5 % – the seventh day

The labor market statistics bulletin, issued by the Saudi General Statistics Authority for the last quarter of 2024, showed a decrease in the unemployment rate between the total population of the Kingdom (Saudis and non -Saudis – 15 years and more) during the period of measurement to 3.5%, while the Saudis decreased to 7.0% compared to 7.8% during the same period from the previous year 2023.

According to the results of the bulletin reported by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) today, Thursday, the total unemployment rate among the male population was during the last quarter of last year and females and females 10.4%, while the rate of participation of Saudi women in the workforce increased compared to the same period in 2023 to 36.0%.

She pointed out that the unemployment rate among male Saudis reached 4.3%, while it decreased between Saudi women to 11.9%, while the rate of participation in the workforce of the total population (Saudis and non -Saudis – 15 years and more) reached 66.4% and the rate of participation in the workforce of the total male population is 83.6%.

The decrease in unemployment rates is due to the increase in the average workers of the Saudi population to 47.5 %, an increase of 1.0 % compared to the same quarter of 2023, while the average Saudi female workers recorded 31.8 %, an increase of 1.7 % on an annual basis; Driven by effective policies in developing the labor market, enhancing the employment environment and supporting the enabling initiatives of women, which contributed to increasing their economic participation and enhancing their role in advancing the growth and sustainable development.

The bulletin indicated that the average workers to the population of the age of work (Saudis and non -Saudis 15 years or more) reached 64%, as the males recorded 81.9%, and females 30%, while the rate of workers to the population of the age of the Saudi population recorded 47.5%, as the male share was 63.4% and females 31.8%.
