Qatar called for intensifying international efforts to subject all Israeli nuclear facilities to the guarantees of the International Atomic Energy Agency and to join Israel to the Treaty of the non -spread of nuclear weapons as a non -nuclear state.

This came in the statement of the State of Qatar delivered by Jassim Yaqoub Al Hammadi, the Ambassador of the State of Qatar and its permanent representative to the United Nations Office and International Organizations in Vienna, in front of the session of the Council of the International Atomic Energy Agency held in Vienna, regarding the situation in occupied Palestine and Israeli nuclear capabilities.

He explained that all countries of the Middle East region, with the exception of Israel, have become parties in the Treaty of the Non -Proliferation and have agreements in effect with the agency … pointing to Israel’s continued in its aggressive policies of increasing the calls of extremists to the forced displacement of the Palestinian people, intensifying military campaigns against the West Bank cities and their camps, stopping the entry of humanitarian aid to Gaza, and continuing to ban the work of the United Nations agency for relief and employment Palestinian refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).

He pointed out that Qatar submitted a written note last week to the International Court of Justice on the request of consultative opinion from the International Court of Justice regarding the decision of the United Nations General Assembly on December 19, 2024 regarding a request for a fatwa from the International Court of Justice regarding Israel’s obligations regarding the existence of United Nations activities, other international organizations and third countries.

He noted the assertion of the State of Qatar in its memo that Israel must be committed to allowing the United Nations and other international organizations, especially the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) and other humanitarian organizations to work in Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories, and commit to respecting and protecting the property of the United Nations and other international organizations, especially schools, medical facilities, transportation and water facilities, in addition to its employees.
