Kuwait confirms its support for the stability of Syria – the seventh day

The Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry has expressed the strong condemnation of Kuwait and its condemnation of the crimes committed by groups outside the law in the sisterly Syrian Arab Republic and its targeting of security forces and state institutions.

In a statement, the Ministry affirmed that Kuwait stands alongside the Syrian Arab Republic and its support for all the efforts and measures taken by the Syrian government to preserve its national security and stability.

On the other hand, the United Nations Secretary -General, Antonio Guterres, expressed his concern about the recent clashes in the coastal areas of Syria, including reports on civilian casualties.

For his part, UN spokesman Stephen Dujarric said that the Secretary -General strongly condemns all violence in Syria, calling on the parties to protect civilians and stop hostilities.

He added that “the Secretary -General is concerned about the danger of escalating tensions between societies in Syria at a time when reconciliation and peaceful political transition should be a top priority after 14 years of conflict. The Syrians deserve sustainable peace, prosperity and justice.”

In turn, the United Nations Special Envoy to Syria, Gear Pederson, said in light of the continued developments of the situation and our endeavor to accurately verify the facts, there is an immediate need to control the soul from all parties, and to ensure full respect for the protection of civilians in accordance with international law.
