A international official warns of difficult conditions to prevent aid from Gaza in Ramadan – the seventh day

The deputy coordinator of the United Nations for humanitarian affairs in the occupied Palestinian land, Sam Rose, stressed the importance of re -introducing aid to the Gaza Strip, pointing to the suffering of the Palestinians in Gaza over the past 16 months, due to the siege and misery they face.

The UN official said that it is necessary to re -allow humanitarian aid to enter Gaza after about a week has passed since the border crossings are closed. This comes at a time when the residents are still suffering from difficult conditions.

The UN official added: “Palestinian families should celebrate the holy month of Ramadan, but once again they face uncertainty, with the dwindling supplies in the markets, and the main humanitarian services such as food aid, bakeries, health care, water and sanitation are at risk again.”

The UN official called for the necessity of reopening the borders, stressing that “humanitarian aid is not negotiable under international humanitarian law, stressing that it is important to extend the ceasefire, release the hostages and enable the population in Gaza to return to rebuild their lives.
