Lebanese Prime Minister Dr. Nawaf Salam stressed that the restoration of institutions for its recovery is the supreme government project to achieve recovery and sustainable development, noting that the role of women in its leadership and directing it is essential to the success of this project, saying: The reform and rescue government realizes that the responsibility between the government and development partners from non -governmental organizations and a business community and donor parties.
This came during a conference entitled: “Comprehensive and accountable and responsive social institutions” organized by the United Nations Women, on the occasion of International Women’s Day, attended by Minister of Social Affairs Hanin Al -Sayed, Tourism Laura Al -Khazen, Environment Tamara Al -Zain, Representatives Essa Ezzeddine, Ghada Ayoub, Ibrahim Munimna, Firas Hamdan, Mark Dou, Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator of the United Nations Imran Risa, Head of the Basil Falihan Institute Lamia Moubiah Al -Bassat, a crowd of ambassadors, representatives of United Nations bodies, and international organizations.
On the other hand, the resident coordinator and the United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator Imran Risa highlighted the importance of governance and comprehensive leadership.
He said: “The slogan of the International Women’s Day this year – for all women and girls: rights, equality and empowerment – calls for measures to unleash equal rights, ability and opportunities for all. The celebration in 2025 acquires importance in particular, as it coincides with the thirtieth anniversary of the BPFA work, which is the most comprehensive global framework for promoting women’s rights. In 2024, Lebanon contributed, along with 158 countries. Other members, in a global review of the progress made in implementing the decisive areas of interest in the Begin’s work curriculum.
The Lebanese government reaffirmed its commitment to gender equality through its commitment to international frameworks such as the Begin’s work curriculum and the agreement to eliminate all forms of discrimination against women. The country’s constitution, national laws and policies – including the national strategy for women
