On his first day with his new position, Israeli Army Chief of Staff, Eyal Zamir, led a military training that was not renewed inside the Gaza Strip, according to the Israeli newspaper “Yedioth Ahronoth”, on Friday.
Zamir entered the Gaza Strip after assuming the position, where he conducted unannounced training near Beit Hanoun.
“You are under the Hamas attack,” the chief of staff told the soldiers.

Zamir’s move to coincide with Israel’s investigations, to determine those responsible for the failure to repel the sudden Hamas attack more than 16 months ago.
Senior military officials say that Zamir “is taking the role quickly”, as he told his subordinates on more than one occasion that “the war may ignite again at any moment. Hamas must be decisively defeated.”
In his first official comment, the new Israeli Chief of Staff acknowledged the failure of the army to repel the October 7 attack, and pledged to make changes in the military regime.
