Badr Abdel -Ati, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, on March 5, with President “Dennis Sasso Ngisu”, President of the Republic of Congo, in the presence of the Congolese Defense Minister in the capital, Brazzaville, holding a message from President Abdel Fattah El -Sisi to his Congolese counterpart, dealing with the positive developments taking place in the Egyptian Congolese relations, and aspiring to take more steps during the future period to advance the areas of bilateral cooperation with priority, in order to achieve the interests of the two countries And the two brotherly peoples.

Minister Abdel Ati conveyed the greetings of the President of the Republic to President “Dennis Sasu Ngisu”, stressing the depth of the bonds of close historical relations that bring together the two brotherly countries, and the desire to upgrade bilateral relations in all fields, noting the importance of preparing for the second session of the joint committee between the two countries, and expressed Egypt’s readiness to support Congo to activate the national development plan 2022-2026, in line with what It is included in the plan from development goals in the fields of agriculture, digital transformation, tourism, real estate, industry, development of special economic areas, reviewing Egyptian expertise in these fields, especially the management of the economic zone of the Suez Canal, the development and development of government systems and services, and major infrastructure projects in new cities in Egypt.

Minister Abdel Ati pointed out that the volume of Egyptian investments in African countries increased exceeding 14 billion dollars, noting that the great capabilities and experience enjoyed by Egyptian companies in Africa enable them to implement major projects in many vital areas such as infrastructure, energy, health, agriculture and medicine. In this context, he pointed to the keenness to implement the project to supply the industrial zone in the city of “Maloco” with drinking water and electricity, and stressed the importance of strengthening the economic and commercial economic relations between the two countries, and the dispatch of a delegation of Egyptian businessmen to Brazzaville to hold an economic forum in the priority sectors of both sides.

The Minister also reviewed the training programs offered by the Cairo International Center for the Settlement of Conflicts, Conservation and Construction of Peace, and the Egyptian Agency for Partnership for Development, confirming Egypt’s readiness to support building the capabilities of national cadres in the Congo by expanding training programs and scholarships, in addition to sending doctors in the required specializations and exchanging experiences in the pharmaceutical industries.

On the other hand, the meeting dealt with a number of regional issues of common concern, foremost of which is the situation in Libya, where Minister Abdel Ati congratulated President Sasu Ngisu on the success of his efforts in signing the Libyan reconciliation agreement during the last African Union summit. The two sides discussed the developments in Sudan, and the efforts to reach a settlement of the crisis leading to ending the conflict, as well as developments in the ceasefire negotiations in Gaza, appreciating the historic African support for the rights of the Palestinian people.

The two sides also stressed the importance of consultation and coordination between the two countries in international forums to unify positions, exchange the support of the two countries’ nominations in influential international positions, and support the nominations approved by the African Union in international forums, especially the nomination of Dr. Khaled Al -Anani for the position of Director General of UNESCO.

For his part, President Dennis Sasu Ngisu asked to convey his greetings to President Abdel Fattah El -Sisi, expressing his great appreciation for the brotherly relations that bring Egypt and the Congo, praising the active role of Egypt in the African continent and its efforts in enhancing security and stability. He stressed his keenness to enhance economic cooperation in a way that achieves the common interests of the two brotherly countries.
