The World Health Organization said in a statement that it signed the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Action and the World Health Organization in Egypt as a joint cooperation agreement; To support Sudanese patients in Egypt displaced from the war in Sudan and suffer from renal insufficiency, with a total value of 3 million and 618 thousand US dollars, more than 1,000 individuals benefit.

The agreement was signed by the regional director of the World Health Organization Office for the Eastern Mediterranean, Dr. Hanan Belki and Ahmed Al -Bayz – Assistant General Supervisor of Operations and Programs at the King Salman Relief Center, on the sidelines of the Fourth Riyadh International Humanitarian Forum.
The project aims to provide continuous treatment for Sudanese kidney failure patients in the cities of Cairo, Giza, Alexandria, Luxor and Aswan, where the project will be implemented in 3 stages: ensuring life -saving health care services, determining the distribution of service providers in areas with high population density of Sudanese, and ensuring sustainable access to treatment.
The representative of the World Health Organization in Egypt, Dr. Naama Abed, said: “The war in Sudan has caused the largest displacement crisis in the world, as Egypt received the largest number of Sudanese displaced people, and the Sudanese nationality has become the most prevalent among expatriates. Egypt follows the policy of not establishing the camps, and it has a busy record in providing basic services for refugees on an equal footing with the Egyptians, which constitutes an increasing pressure on local resources. International Solidarity and sharing responsibility more than ever. Therefore, we thank the Egyptian government and the Saudi government for this cooperation.
