Arab foreign ministers are gathering to discuss ways to stop the war on Gaza and the agenda of the “Baghdad Summit” – the seventh day

At the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States, the 163rd session of the Arab League Council at the level of Arab Foreign Ministers, headed by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, will be held to succeed the Republic of Yemen, and with the participation of the Secretary -General of the Arab League Ahmed Aboul Gheit, foreign ministers of member states and representatives of Arab countries.

The ministerial meeting discusses priority Arab files, amid complex regional developments and escalating security and political challenges in the region.

The meeting is expected to witness an in -depth discussion on the arrangements of the next Arab summit in Baghdad, scheduled for May 17, in light of a wide Arab aspiration to achieve active outputs in terms of supporting the Palestinian issue and promoting Arab national security.

The agenda of the course includes a number of political, economic and social items, on top of which is the item of joint Arab action, which includes the university’s Secretary -General’s report between the two sessions (162 and 163) and the project of the next summit agenda.

The business schedule project also includes a comprehensive clause on the Palestinian issue and the Arab -Israeli conflict. The Council also addresses the developments of the situation in a number of Arab countries that are witnessing extended crises, led by Libya, Yemen, Sudan, Syria, Somalia, and Lebanon, in addition to the Iranian occupation of the three UAE islands, the issue of navigation security and energy supplies in the Arab Gulf region … as well as discussing the developments of the Ethiopian Renaissance Dam file and its effects on the water security of the estuary countries.

In the international context, the Council discusses the dangers of Israeli nuclear armaments on regional security, ways to revive the Middle East evacuation initiative from weapons of mass destruction, as well as files related to Arab cyber security, and enhance cooperation in the field of information and communications technology within the international framework.

The meeting also addresses Arab cooperation relations with regional and international organizations and gatherings, in addition to discussing a number of issues related to climate change, developing the Arab system to combat terrorism, financial and administrative issues related to the work of the General Secretariat and the mechanisms of joint action.

This ministerial meeting will be held under accurate regional circumstances, amid Arab aspirations to enhance the unity of the situation, activate the mechanisms of joint work, and reach outcomes that reflect the aspirations of Arab peoples in security, stability and development.
