Lebanon and the UAE stressed the importance of achieving peace, security and global stability and supporting all efforts made to provide a better future for the peoples of the world.
This came during the meeting of Lebanese President General Joseph Aoun today, Tuesday, at the Republican Palace Baabda in Beirut, with the President of the Federal National Council in the Emirates, Saqr Ghobash, during his official visit to Lebanon, where they discussed the latest developments and current developments on the regional and international arenas, according to the Emirates News Agency (WAM).
The two sides affirmed the depth of historical and fraternal relations that link the UAE and Lebanon, and the extended cultural, economic and social ties they unanimously, noting the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation in a way that serves the interests of the two peoples, and reflects the permanent keenness of the Emirates to support the security, stability and prosperity of Lebanon.

President Aoun pointed out the importance of the role of parliaments in developing cooperation relations between the two countries in a way that contributes to supporting development efforts and achieving the aspirations of the two peoples, appreciating the great continuous support provided by the UAE to Lebanon and its people, which came as an expression of the depth of brotherly relations between the two countries, and embodying the principles of historical brotherhood.
For his part, Ghobash affirmed his country’s constant keenness to have its relations with countries based on firm foundations of joint cooperation, friendship, mutual respect, consolidating the principles of brotherhood and cooperation between nations and peoples, and consolidating the foundations of peace and coexistence, again emphasizing the UAE’s fixed position in supporting the security, stability, sovereignty of Lebanon and the unity of its lands, and the concern for everything that achieves the aspirations of its people in development and prosperity.
In the context, Saqr Ghobash discussed, with the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament Nabih Berri, ways to enhance cooperation relations in various fields, while emphasizing the importance of parliamentary cooperation between the two councils and exchanging visits and experiences in the interest of the two countries and peoples.

The two sides stressed the importance of strengthening parliamentary relations between the two countries and coordinating positions on various issues of common concern, foremost of which are Arab national security and Arab solidarity, and aspects of support, cooperation and coordination between the two sides in light of the brotherly relations that bring the two countries to various levels.
Ghobash stressed the importance of cooperation and joint coordination between the two sides in the interest of the two countries and regional and international stability, noting the importance of strengthening dialogue and diplomacy as a way to resolve crises in the region and the world, explaining that the escalation did not lead only to an unprecedented state of instability, calling for intensifying regional and international efforts to end crises and conflicts, and ensuring a safe and stable future for the peoples of the region.
