The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated – in a statement reported by the Iraqi News Agency (conscious) – that Hussein met the Deputy Prime Minister of Bahraini Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, at the Qudaibi Palace in the Bahraini capital, Manama, where they discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations between the two countries, and exchanged views on regional and international issues of common concern, while emphasizing the importance of dialogue and diplomacy in supporting regional and international stability.
The statement continued that the two sides focused on developing the historical relations that bring together the two countries, especially in the political, economic and cultural fields, stressing the importance of enhancing joint cooperation to serve the interests of the two peoples.

Hussein expressed Iraq aspiring to deepen the partnership with Bahrain, especially in the fields of trade, investment and infrastructure, in light of the stability and promising opportunities in the country.
For his part, Al Khalifa valued the strong brotherly relations that link the two countries, praising the mutual desire to develop them in a manner that is compatible with the aspirations of the two sides.
The two sides stressed the need to intensify coordination and consultation between the two countries in regional and international forums, in a way that contributes to enhancing security and peace, expressing their optimism about the future of bilateral relations, stressing the progress towards an effective and sustainable partnership.
