The New York Times: The leaks of the US Defense Minister included the schedules of the Houthis – the seventh day

The American newspaper “The New York Times” revealed four American sources, that the US Defense Minister, Beit Higseth, published sensitive information about raids on Yemen through another group of chat with the “Signal” application, which included his wife, brother and personal lawyer.

The newspaper added that the information published by Higseth through the “Segen” application included the schedules of the raids targeting the “Houthi” group in Yemen, noting that the chat group in which the Minister of Defense published this information included his wife and about 12 people from his friends and colleagues.

“The New York Times” revealed that Higsith broke this sensitive information before confirming his appointment as Minister of Defense, and he used his own phone to deal with it, not the government.

The sources stated that the information that Higsith participated in “Segen” included the schedules of fighters F/A-18 Hornets targeting areas under the control of the “Houthis”, which are basically the same plans for the attack that he participated in a separate signal conversation on the same day that err the editor-in-chief of The Atlantic Jeffrey Goldberg.

The newspaper said that Higseth published the information information against the “Houthis” almost the same time, in which this information participated through the other group of chat leaked by The Atlantic magazine.

The administration of President Donald Trump is facing a political crisis that the American media refers to recently, in the name of the “Signal scandal”, which began after the editor -in -chief of The Atlantic magazine published a report on his mistake to add to a group of correspondence to the Signal application, apparently by national security advisor Mike Walz.

The deployment of senior national security officials raised military plans in a “collective chat” on the application of “Signal”, which included a journalist, questions about the government’s ability to protect sensitive information.

And the wife of Higseth, Jennifer, the previous Fox News producer, has no official status in the Ministry of Defense, but she traveled with her husband abroad, and was criticized for accompanying her husband in sensitive meetings with foreign leaders.

And the brother of Higseth, Phil, and his lawyer Tim Parteror, who continue to work as a personal lawyer for him, have jobs in the “Pentagon” Ministry of Defense, but it is not clear why neither of them needs to know the military strikes targeting the “Houthis”.

The newspaper pointed out that there was a second reference conversation that was not previously reported in which Higseth participated in highly sensitive military information, which is the latest in a series of developments that put his administration and his ruling under scrutiny.

Some current and former American military officials and government officials expressed concern about the content of Higseth messages, saying that he had leaked “details of a sensitive attack”, describing the behavior as “reckless and dangerous.”

The “Signal” group seemed 18 prominent figures, including Vice President GD Verse, Hessesh, Foreign Minister Marco Rubio, CIA director CIA John Ratcliffe, National Intelligence Director, Toulsi Gabbard, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, White House heads Unveiled intelligence, and other senior officials in the National Security Council.

The Trump administration has sought to contain the repercussions of these leaks, as Defense Minister Beit Higseth has repeatedly denied sending text messages that include war plans.
