The Prime Minister of Iraq confirms his country’s interest in cooperation with the United Nations – the seventh day

Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shi’a Al -Sudani affirmed today, Sunday, his country’s interest in cooperation with the United Nations.

The Sudanese Media Office said – in a statement reported by the Iraqi News Agency (conscious) – that this came during the Sudanese meeting with the Undersecretary of the Secretary -General of the United Nations Organization for Operational Support Affairs Atoul Kharhari, who conveyed to the Sudanese, the regards of the Secretary -General of the organization Antonio Guterres, and confirming his presence at the Arab summit that Baghdad will host next month.

Al -Sudani expressed his appreciation to the United Nations of all its assistance to Iraq and its people from the 2005 elections until today, praising the transparent and smooth coordination in the process of ending the United Nations Assistance Mission (UNAMA), which represents the beginning of a new semester of cooperation in various sectors, fields and programs with the international organization.
For his part, the UN official said, “Iraq is currently in an advanced level of security, openness and urban development, which corresponds to parallel progress in the areas of political stability and positive growth in economic development, achieving the requirements of successive electoral processes, and ensuring their success.”

The statement pointed out that the meeting witnessed the discussion of the progress of preparations and arrangements to end the work of the (UNAMA) mission in Iraq, scheduled to be completed in August 2026.
