The Palestinian President receives an invitation from his Iraqi counterpart to participate in the Arab summit – the seventh day

Today, Sunday, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas received an invitation from Iraqi President Abdullatif Rashid to participate in the Arab summit to be held in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, on May 17.

The Palestinian News Agency (Wafa) stated that this came during the reception of the Palestinian President today, Sunday, at his residence in the Jordanian capital, Amman, to the Deputy Prime Minister and Iraqi Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein.

The Palestinian President expressed his hope that the summit will contribute to strengthening the unified Arab position towards strengthening Arab issues, and in the heart, supporting the rights of the Palestinian people, ending the Israeli aggression on Gaza, the West Bank, and Jerusalem, accelerating the introduction of humanitarian and medical aid to the Gaza Strip, the withdrawal of the Israeli occupation forces, and the state of Palestine to take full responsibilities.

He also expressed his hope to implement the Palestinian Arab vision for the reconstruction of the existence of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, stop settlement and all attacks on the people and Islamic and Christian holy sites, and support the embodiment of the establishment of the Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, appreciating the positions of Iraq supporting the rights of the Palestinian people and their support for the steadfastness of the Palestinian people and their just cause.
