Algeria calls for the withdrawal of foreign forces from Libya and the full respect for its sovereignty – the seventh day

During a session of the UN Security Council, Algeria called for the immediate and unconditional withdrawal of all foreign forces from Libya, stressing the need for full respect for the sovereignty, unity and integrity of its territory.

In a session of the UN Security Council on the situation in Libya, the permanent representative of Algeria at the United Nations, Ammar bin Jameh, confirmed that “Libya is standing today at an important crossroads in its history that requires urgent and strict intervention from both local and international actors.”

Bin Jameh called for “the immediate, unconditional withdrawal of all foreign and mercenaries from Libya and the full respect for its sovereignty,” stressing that “external interference and foreign military presence is a major obstacle in the path of achieving peace in Libya.”

Bin Jama added, “It is necessary to respect the sovereignty, unity and integrity of its lands.” While all the Libyan parties involved to work with the United Nations Mission to settle the differences related to the election laws in order to reach the country’s political stalemate.

Bin Jameh urged the Security Council to assume his historical responsibilities to stand together with Libya and enable its people to build a brighter future. He also invited “to provide the necessary assistance to address the serious challenges faced by the economy.”
