The United Nations Commission for Human Rights expresses its concern about the violations of Israel in Lebanon – the seventh day

A spokesman for the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, “precious Al -Khaitan”, expressed the great concern of the UNHCR about Israel’s violations of the rights of civilians in Lebanon, in light of the continuation of the Israeli military operations that resulted in the killing and injury of civilians, and the destruction of civilian infrastructure.

According to the United Nations Media Center, according to the evaluation of the first commission, at least 71 civilians have been killed by the Israeli forces in Lebanon since the ceasefire came into effect on November 27 of last year, among the victims 14 women and 9 children, and more than 92,000 people are still displaced from their homes.

“Al -Khaitan” indicated that the southern suburb of Beirut was recently exposed, for the first time, since the ceasefire, to bomb in two separate incidents. The targeted area was in the vicinity of two schools, and said that Israeli air strikes hit a newly -established medical center run by the Islamic Medical Association in Naqoura on April 3, which led to the destruction of the center completely and damage to two ambulances.

“This violence must stop immediately, and all parties to the conflict must respect international humanitarian law, including the principles of discrimination, proportion and precaution, and immediate, independent and neutral investigations must be conducted in all allegations related to grave violations of international humanitarian law, and those who are responsible for them must be held accountable.”

He added that all the displaced people in Lebanon and Israel should be able to return safely to their homes, stressing the need to remove the unexploded munitions from the remnants of the war in southern Lebanon so that people can resume their lives safely upon return. Al -Khaitan emphasized that the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights “Volcker Turk” urged all parties to respect the obligations that they pledged under the ceasefire, which must turn into a permanent endowment of hostilities.
