Aboul Gheit invites Arab organizations and institutions to support reconstruction projects in Gaza and Syria – the seventh day

The Secretary -General of the League of Arab States, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, called on joint Arab organizations and institutions to support states, after conflicts, strengthen projects of the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip and Syria, and to provide possible support to these countries and other Arab countries that have been exhausted and exhausted by wars.

Aboul Gheit said, in his speech during the opening of the (57) session of the Higher Coordination Committee for joint Arab action today, Wednesday, in Tunisia, “He directed to make the issue of the role of joint Arab action organizations and institutions in supporting post -conflict countries and strengthening projects of the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip and Syria, at the top of the agenda of these meetings.”

Aboul Gheit warned, in his speech distributed by the Arab League, that the Palestinian issue is still subject to the most dangerous threat in its history, as the Israeli occupation begins the war of extermination, and the world is silent of shame and lethality, indicating that Israel wants to erase the Palestinians from geography and history, a goal that they depicted them with biblical delusions and racist contract.

He stressed that the Palestinian presence on the ground is the most important way for the struggle today, and we all must work to enhance this presence and that steadfastness in front of a blind brutal unprecedented in our modern era, stressing that the displacement is rejected by Arab, Islamic and international, and that this killing has come to stop to immediately begin the efforts of reconstruction and recovery, and open the way for a just, Islamic, Arab and global solution, which is a solution.

In this context, Aboul Gheit pointed out what was included in the decision of the Economic and Social Council in its regular session (113), regarding “preparing an emergency response plan to deal with the negative economic and social repercussions of the Israeli aggression against the State of Palestine”, which was followed by the decision of this esteemed committee in its last fifty -sixth session, in addition to the decision of the Bahrain Summit on May 16, 2024, which adopted this plan.

Aboul Gheit praised the efforts of member states, joint Arab action organizations and institutions that provided relief, economic, social, humanitarian and health assistance to the Gaza Strip.

Aboul Gheit continued: “It is no secret to everyone that the crises witnessed by the world and the region put the League of Arab States in front of a major challenge represented in dealing with a number of political, economic, social and human repercussions.

He pointed out that in recent years, he was keen to find this platform an occasion to emphasize the importance of giving artificial intelligence applications that have become pivotal in various fields, sufficient amount of importance, in light of the accelerated technological progress and the major digital transformations that the world is witnessing today.

Aboul Gheit explained that during the committee’s meetings in its last session in 2024, an initiative to hold an Arab dialogue circle on modern trends in artificial intelligence applications and the ethics of its use and its impact on the Arab region was presented, and it was already held with a joint and valued organization from the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport and Naif Arab University of Security Sciences, in cooperation with the General Secretariat of the Arab League, last February.

He stressed that this dialogue circle has proven its success as a platform for international and Arab experts in the field of artificial intelligence, noting the importance of continuing dialogue and cooperation between Arab countries and specialized Arab organizations to ensure the maximum benefit from artificial intelligence in a way that serves sustainable development, promoting digital security, and protecting the Arab cultural identity.

Aboul Gheit warned that absorbing this new technology and spreading it in the fields of economics, education, security, defense, health, and others requires institutional and organizational changes and enhance the scientific and technological base, and this may take decades, and we, as Arabs, should not lose this decisive race in shaping the image of the future.

Aboul Gheit pointed out that in order to respond to the requirements of the current situation, as well as in an effort to upgrade the work of the Supreme Coordination Committee to better levels, and in implementation of the work plan that was agreed upon in the past focus on specific topics for their importance .. These are topics in which we have achieved a number of achievements, it is important to continue to implement these projects and initiatives that have been launched.

Aboul Gheit said, “In this regard, today we will review the reports and brief offers of some of these issues submitted by joint Arab action organizations and institutions and sectors of the university’s general secretariat.”

He stressed that the recent Arab Summit in the Kingdom of Bahrain was a positive indication of the restoration of Arab work its momentum, noting that at this summit was approved to adopt more than one Arab strategy in various fields, as the Arab summits previously assigned the organizations and institutions of joint Arab action to implement the programs and activities offered and mobilize the necessary funding for them in cooperation with all partners, adding that “in this regard we will discuss these issues on our agenda today, and I look forward in this regard. To an explicit and fruitful dialogue on these ideas. “

In his speech, Aboul Gheit expressed his happiness for holding the meetings of the Supreme Coordination Committee for joint Arab action, in its fifty -seventh regular session, in the Arab Organization for Education, Culture and Science (Alexu), in advance of sincere thanks and gratitude to Dr. Mohamed Ould Omar, the general manager of the organization, and all his assistants to host the meetings of the current session of the committee, and for his usual support for the activities of the League of Arab States, and his keenness Establishing close cooperation with it to serve the joint Arab action, and also thanked the President of the Tunisian Republic, government and people, the state’s headquarters, for facilitating the work of the organization and ensuring its stability.

Aboul Gheit said, “The organization that we meet today is one of the ancient Arab organizations, and which the Arab League Council had previously approved its establishment on May 21, 1964, and began its duties on July 25, 1970, and today it was able to prove its existence as a specialized Arab organization that is indispensable for joint Arab work for its experiences in the areas of its competencies.”

He added, “We are following the organization’s endeavor to achieve the main goals and tasks, which are included in its constitution and the charter of Arab cultural unity, which is to contribute to the movement of building the knowledge society and upgrading the systems of education, science and scientific research and modernization.”
