The Pentagon announced that the US State Department agreed to a possible deal to sell “Stinger” missiles and its own bonuses worth $ 825 million to Morocco.

A statement by the Pentagon Defense and Security Cooperation Agency said that Morocco had asked the United States about 600 missiles.

The deal is expected to include the provision of engineering and logistical services and the necessary equipment, and its total value will reach $ 825 million.

The agency added in its statement that “the supposed deal will support the foreign policy and national security of the United States by enhancing the security of a large ally from outside NATO, it remains an important force to support political stability and economic progress in North Africa.”

She pointed out that the potential deal “will develop Morocco’s capabilities to address the existing and future dangers,” adding that Morocco intends to use these materials and services to modernize its armed forces and develop capabilities for short -term air defense.

The agency stated that it had informed Congress of the potential sale deal, on Tuesday.
