Algeria wins the membership of the Peace and Security Council of the African Union – the seventh day

Today, Tuesday, Algeria won the membership of the Confederation and Security Council for the African Union for a period of three years in the elections that took place in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, as part of the 24th extraordinary session of the Executive Council of the continental authority.

Algeria decided the results of the vote in its favor after it had 34 African countries’ confidence during the third round of the elections in exchange for Libya’s 15 votes.

The Algerian Agency indicated that the victory of Algeria is a recognition of its role and position under the leadership of President Abdel Majid Taboun, in the promotion of peace and security in the African continent.

It is worth noting that Algerian diplomacy, Salama Malika Haddadi, was elected deputy head of the African Union Commission, in mid -February, with a majority of 33 votes.
