The Arab League condemns the targeting of the displaced and civilians with the Abu Shuk and Zamzam camp in Darfur – the seventh day

Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary -General of the League of Arab States, condemned the most coordinated land and air attacks launched by the Rapid Support Forces over the three days preceding the city of El Fasher, Zamzam Methitami and Abu Shok for the displaced, which led to the killing of more than 100 people, including 20 children, and about 14 employees working in the “International Relief Organization”, and the fall of about two hundred wounded, according to the reports of the Office of the Nations Office United to Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.

The Arab League considered this aggression against the innocent displaced people as a serious violation of international humanitarian law, and the Security Council Resolution 2736 of 2024, which demanded the Rapid Support Forces to stop the siege of El -Fasher and reduce the escalation and its surroundings and withdraw all fighters who threaten the safety and security of civilians.

The Arab League included its voice with the United Nations voice to demand the necessity of holding those responsible for the attacks against civilians.

The Zamzam and Abu Shok camps are one of the largest camps for the displaced in Darfur, as they housed more than 700,000 people who have fled violent swirls since 2003, and they became stuck again in the range of fire without a safe place to resort to, and increased the humanitarian catastrophe to bomb water sources and the exile of foodstuffs.
