Trump: The Houthis are trying to penetrate into Somalia and the Somalis prevented them – the seventh day

US President Donald Trump has announced the direction of American air strikes targeting sites affiliated with the Houthi group in Sanaa and Al -Jawf Governorate.

Trump stressed that these operations come within the framework of an expanded campaign against “terrorism”, noting that “the time has come to hide the terrorists, but that will not help.”

Trump stressed that the United States will continue to support the Somali people in facing the Houthi attempts to penetrate into the country, calling on the Somalis to prevent this group from infiltrating their lands. He pointed out that the US fighters will chase the terrorists and offer them justice.

In a related context, the Houthi group announced the killing of five people and the injury of ten others as a result of the American raids that targeted the “Al -Suraiya” factory for the ceramics in the Bani Matar district, west of Sanaa, and owned by one of the group’s leaders.

American aircraft also launched six air strikes on Houthi sites in the district of Khab, Al -Sha`f and the Al -Yamta area in Al -Jawf Governorate, without issuing confirmed information about the size of the losses so far.

This escalation comes in light of reports on an alliance between the Houthi group and the Somali youth movement, in addition to other terrorist groups, under the supervision and direct Iranian directive. Through these operations, the United States seeks to undermine the capabilities of the Houthis and prevent them from expanding their influence in the region.

It should be noted that these strikes come as part of an ongoing American air campaign since mid -March, during which it targeted the Houthi military infrastructure on a daily basis, with the aim of stopping their attacks on commercial ships in the Red Sea and the Bab al -Mandab strait.

In light of these developments, observers expect that US military operations against the Houthis will continue in the coming period, with the possibility of limited and purposeful operations, such as controlling the port of Hodeidah, without being involved in a widespread land intervention.
