The statement published by the Saudi Foreign Ministry also expressed the Kingdom’s aspiration that the results of the Iranian -American talks lead to supporting joint work to enhance security, stability and peace in the region and the world.

Today, the indirect talks between Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqji and the American envoy to the Middle East Steve Whitkov ended in Muscat via the Omani mediator on the nuclear program, while these talks are the highest level in this regard since the withdrawal of US President Trump from the Iranian nuclear agreement in 2018 in his first term.

While the two countries will hold a new talk in Muscat next Saturday, as a statement of the Iranian Foreign Ministry stated that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqji, and the American envoy Steve Whitkov “agreed to continue the talks next week”, and the statement indicated that Araqji and Wikkov had directly “a few minutes”, explaining that the Iranian delegation met the American delegation after indirect talks and spoke to him to it.

Meanwhile, the White House described the talks that took place with Iran, on Saturday, in the Sultanate of Oman as a “step forward”, and said that the American special envoy Steve Witkev met Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqji in Muscat, and had with him “very positive and constructive” talks.

According to the statement, the Special Envoy, Wittouf, confirmed to Iraq that he had received instructions from President Trump to resolve differences between the two countries through dialogue and diplomacy if possible. “The statement continued:” These issues are very complicated. Tehran officials had previously confirmed that the goal is to reach a fair, real and sustainable agreement, to lift sanctions and discuss the issue of the nuclear agreement, while Washington would like to prevent Tehran from approaching the development of a nuclear bomb by forcing it to end its nuclear program.

After Washington withdrew from the agreement concluded in 2015, Iran gradually retracted its obligations.
