The survey was conducted between 25 and 2 April 2025, and included a representative sample of 1,200 citizens and citizenship from various Lebanese regions, through phone calls made by specialized researchers and according to an accurate scientific methodology.
A look at war: division in description
In the description of the war that erupted in 1975, 40.7% of the Lebanese considered it was a Lebanese civil war, while 38.5% saw it as a “war on our land”, and 8.8% considered it a war to settle the Palestinians.

As for the sources of information about the war, it came first from family and friends by 81.9%, followed by the media (44.8%), then the personal experience (28.3%), books and references (13.4%).

The opinions of the respondents were divided regarding the concern of the return of the war. 48.3% expressed their concern (32.5% of them are not concerned at all), while 51.7% expressed their concern with varying degrees (of whom 25.8% are very concerned).
Civil State: The Lebanese hope for a better tomorrow
In a look at the future, it was found that 63.3% of the Lebanese see that “the abolition of political sectarianism and the establishment of a secular civil state” is the best solution to the situation in Lebanon.
The cost of war: personal harm and family
42.5%of the respondents reported that the war caused them or their families directly damage, including: killing or injury near (23.7%), damage damage (19.9%), or the displacement of family members (19.5%).

A position on Iran and Israel
In a reading of the Lebanese position on the role of Iran in Lebanon, 78.6% of the respondents assumed this role as negative (56% is very negative and 22.6% is somewhat negative), while only 14.3% saw that it was positive (4.2% very positive and 10.1% is somewhat positive).
The respondents considered that Israel is a first enemy for Lebanon by 75.3%.

The “Al -Nahar” administration said that the poll is one of the means to try to understand the reality in connection with the questions of the past and the present, considering that the timing is related to the fifty -year anniversary of a war that has not been extracted through and its results as it should. She added that she is playing her historical role, in the basic stations, in encouraging a real civil peace based on justice, law, and the state of institutions and democracy values.
