Saudi Arabia condemns in the strongest terms the issuance of Israel orders to close UNRWA schools in Jerusalem – the seventh day

Saudi Arabia has condemned the issuance of Israel’s closure orders for UNRWA schools in East Jerusalem, asking the international community to assume its responsibilities towards the ongoing Israeli violations against the Palestinians.

In a statement, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom’s condemnation in the strongest terms the closure orders issued by Israel against six schools affiliated with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) in East Jerusalem.

The Ministry renewed the Kingdom’s categorical refusal to continue the Israeli occupation authorities its intransigence and systematic targeting of UNRWA and relief and humanitarian work, amid the silence of the international community.

The Saudi Foreign Ministry also called on the international community to assume its responsibilities towards the ongoing Israeli violations against the brotherly Palestinian people, stressing that silence on these violations exacerbates the crisis and undermines the opportunities to achieve peace in the region.

This statement comes after the Israeli police delivered all the UNRWA schools in the “Shuafat” camp in Jerusalem, orders to close within 30 days.
