The Israeli army cancels trips to Israelis into Syria due to a security evaluation – the seventh day

The Israeli army announced, on Friday, the cancellation of all planned flights to border areas inside the Syrian territories, and were dedicated to Israeli groups in licensed tours and accompanying guides.

The army spokesman said in an official statement that the decision came “based on the evaluation of the operational situation,” noting that “entering the ways of crossing the border fence will not be allowed at this stage.”

According to the decision, three main tracks were canceled, including the Raqqad River, the Important Bridge on the banks of the Yarmouk River, and the Hijaz rail tunnel in the Yarmouk area.

As for the fourth track located on Jabal Al -Sheikh, overlooking the Lebanese border, it was not covered by the cancellation and remains open at the present time.

It is noteworthy that these tours required special military permits due to their geographical sensitivity near the Syrian border, and it was organized within the framework of educational and historical activities targeting the Israeli public.

It is understood from the backgrounds of the decision that the escalating security tensions in the region have played a decisive role in stopping these activities, despite not announcing a specific threat until the moment.

On April 3, 9 Syrian civilians were killed and others were injured after an attack by the Israeli forces on the Jubailiya Dam, between the city of Nawa and the town of Tsel, west of Daraa, in southern Syria.

Syrian media reported at the time that the people of Daraa clashed with the Israeli occupation forces near the Jubailiya Dam.
