Aboul Gheit participates in the ministerial meeting of the Arab -Islamic Communication Group on Gaza – the seventh day

Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary -General of the League of Arab States, participated in the ministerial meeting of the Arab -Islamic Communication Group on Gaza, which was held in Antalya in Turkey today, Friday.

In his intervention in front of the meeting, Aboul Gheit stressed the absolute priority for the ceasefire in Gaza, warning of the danger of the deterioration of the humanitarian situation to an unprecedented extent with the aim of pushing the Palestinians outside the Strip.

Jamal Rushdie, spokesman for the Secretary -General, said that the meeting witnessed an extensive discussion about ways to form an internal momentum in order to stop the brutal Israeli war on civilians in Gaza, and with the aim of preventing the displacement scenario rejected by Arab and internationally.

Rushdie stressed that the ministers of Arab and Islamic states members of the communication group dealt with the next steps at the political and diplomatic level in terms of embodying the two -state solution and enhancing support for it in the international community, especially with regard to the conference that is expected to be held in New York next June under the auspices of a joint Saudi -French sponsorship in order to push the two -state solution. The meeting stressed the importance of France taking the necessary and necessary step to recognize the Palestinian state, as this represents an important step on the path of the two -state solution.
