Kuwait and Washington reach a settlement in the case of embezzlement at the Ministry of Defense of the Emirate – the seventh day

The American “Law360” website stated that the Kuwaiti and American governments and a businessman from California had reached a settlement in a civil confiscation case related to the embezzlement of millions of dollars from the Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense.

The site reported that the California businessman was a commercial partner of a former Kuwaiti prime minister.

In its report, the site indicated that the case is due to the discovery of the Kuwaiti authorities in 2019, the disappearance of 800 million dollars from the Ministry of Defense.

Three Kuwaiti officials in the federal case were accused of using these funds to buy luxury real estate in Los Angeles and Beverly Hills, in addition to other cars and assets.

In a separate lawsuit later, Sheikh Khaled Al -Jarrah Al -Sabah explicitly accused the purchase of property of a value of at least 104 million dollars from employed money.

Regarding the details of the settlement, the site indicated that its details were not disclosed, but the case included a foundation, including an Italian -style villa, a Mediterranean -style palace, luxury apartments, and land in Beverly Hills.

The same source indicated that Sheikh Khaled Al -Jarrah Al -Sabah had defended his ownership of these assets previously, but he withdrew his claims in February 2024.

According to the report, the settlement also included Victor Franco Nouval, the former son of the partner, who was between him and the surgeon a mutual legal dispute since 2019.
