French President Emmanuel Macron confirmed today, Tuesday, that the Gaza Strip is living in a “besieged” person and cannot be talked about as a “real estate project”, in reference to previous statements by his American counterpart Donald Trump.
“When we talk about Gaza, we are talking about two million trapped people … after months of bombing and war,” Macron said during a visit to Egypt in which he announced his support for the Arab plan for the reconstruction of Gaza in exchange for the Trump proposal to carry out American investments in the Strip.
In statements from the Egyptian city of Al -Arish near the border with the Gaza Strip, Macron added, “We cannot erase history and geography. If it was simply a real estate project or a acquisition of lands, the war would not have erupted.”
