The Israeli Ambassador to Ethiopia, Abraham Nijoz, was expelled from a Conference of the African Union, held today in the capital, Addis Ababa, to commemorate the genocide in Rwanda.

The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed, according to the Times of Israel newspaper, noting that the member states of the Union refused to participate with them in the annual conference to commemorate the genocide in 1994 against Tutsi in Rwanda, which was held in Nelson Mandela Hall at the African Union headquarters in Addis Ababa.

According to the newspaper, the expelled Israeli diplomat, is a former vice of the Likud party, and has been the ambassador in Ethiopia since August 2024.
