The Seventh Palestine Syndicate Conference recommends the delivery of aid and the guarantee of workers ’rights – the seventh day

The seventh General Conference of the General Union of Palestine Trade Unions recommended the need to work within a unified framework in order to enhance the role of the trade union movement in achieving social justice, sustainable development, and decent work for workers, which requires imposing special laws and legislation for workers.

The conference, which was held today, Saturday, stressed, according to the Palestinian News Agency, “Wafa”, in the presence of a number of members of the Executive Liberation Organization of the Palestine Liberation Organization, the centralization of the “Fatah” movement, and a number of ministers and officials, to work to find specialized work courts that acknowledge the rights of workers and their legitimate demands, and pressure to approve legislation related to fair wages, such as the Social Security Law, the Labor Protection Law, and the law of social protection, along with the development of Balanced labor policies between workers and employers, to enhance strategic partnerships and agreements that improve work conditions and conditions, within a sustainable development vision.

The conference called for pressure to enact and update laws that protect workers from arbitrary separation, and guarantee their rights in decent working conditions, fair contracts, and comprehensive health and social insurance, while activating the role of the supervisory authorities to ensure the implementation of these legislations.

In a speech on behalf of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, a member of the Executive Committee of the PLO, Abu Youssef, said that the president gave clear directives and interests the importance of holding the conference, expressing his hope that he would come out with many mechanisms and decisions related to the strengthening of the unity of the labor movement, and the advancement of the reality of Palestine workers in their battle before the occupier who wages an unprecedented annihilation war against the people of Palestine.

In turn, the Minister of Labor Enas Al -Atari said, in her speech on behalf of the Prime Minister, that the conference comes as an affirmation of the full partnership between the public sector and the three parties to the production: unions, employers, and civil society institutions, where the union file was supervised by holding approximately 140 sub -conference conferences, and supervising the holding of 12 conferences for public unions, to culminate today by reaching this conference.

For his part, the Director General of the International Labor Organization, Gilbert Hongoo, confirmed, in a recorded speech to him, the organization’s support for the Federation of Palestinian Trade Unions and the conference activities, as well as supporting the Gaza Strip reconstruction plan.

As for the Secretary -General of the International Federation of Trade Unions, Luk Tranegel, he said, “We stand with the Palestinian workers ‘unions in urging the international community to ensure the entry of humanitarian aid to the sector, the workers’ return to their workplaces and an end to increased unemployment, and to ensure compensation for workers and safeguard their rights.”

For his part, the Secretary -General of the United Kingdom Workers Union Paul Nouak said that “48 labor union in Britain includes 5 and a half million members, stand in solidarity with Palestinian workers for decent work, freedom and independence,” referring to the suffering of Palestinian workers with the Israeli occupation, where lands were seized, colonial construction, and preventing farmers from reaching their lands, depriving workers from Earn their livelihood, but despite that, hope remains.

For his part, the head of the Palestinian Agricultural Chambers of Commerce Industry, Abdo Idris, said that the union is an inherent part of the Palestinian people, and we, along with all parties, can draw the future, explaining that the worker is the basis of the productive process, and we need modern laws that regulate the conditions of our workers.

The representative of the France Workers Union, Maher Tikaya, said that labor rights are eroded under the weight of crises, but the struggle for these rights has no limits, and therefore the struggle must be made to collect and preserve the rights of workers, pointing to the tremendous efforts that the Palestine Trade Union Federation is fighting in defending workers’ rights under the burden of brutal aggression.

The representative of the Spanish Syndicate Union, Marco Perez, also expressed pride in the work of the Palestinian Federation and its role in preserving the rights of the worker, noting that it represents an inspiration for all.
The representative of the Federation of Portuguese Trade Unions, Dennis Lorenenso, also expressed his solidarity with the Palestinian Trade Unions and the Palestinian issue against killings, violence, and destruction, adding that this solidarity operation continues decades ago against the racist occupation policies against the Palestinian people.

He said that the workers in Portugal go out to the streets to condemn the criminal acts committed by the occupation against workers and citizens in Palestine.

For his part, the representative of the Belgium Trade Union Union Theriri Erits said that this is not the first time that the Belgium Federation has participated in activities related to Palestine’s workers, pointing out that the voice of solidarity is above his country, where demonstrations were organized calling for the suspension of forms of trade with Israel that violates the right of the Palestinian worker.

The representative of the Italian Trade Union Federation, Issa Iskandar, said that it is possible to work together, and the union militant movements are working in preserving the rights of its workers.
