The deputy of the American envoy for the Middle East discusses with the Prime Minister of Lebanon the reform plan – the seventh day

The Middle East envoy to the Middle East, Morgan Ortridos, discussed, during a meeting with the Prime Minister of Lebanon, Nawaf Salam, the government’s plan for financial and economic reform, praising the government’s steps in this regard, especially raising banking secrecy, the draft law of banking sector reform, and the launch of a new mechanism for appointments in state administrations, government plans for administrative, institutional reform and fighting corruption. It was also stressed on the need to reach an agreement with the International Monetary Fund.

The discussion also took place on the developments of the situation in the Lebanese south, and the research dealt with the measures carried out by the Lebanese army to implement Resolution 1701 and the security arrangements agreement to stop hostilities, in cooperation with the Military Monitoring Committee, in addition to completing the Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territory.

Ortridos expressed the satisfaction of the measures that the government began to take at Rafic Hariri International Airport in Beirut, and dealt with developments in the Lebanese -Syrian border, while emphasizing its fully controlling and preventing any tensions or chaos in addition to preventing all forms of smuggling.
