The evacuation of African -Sahara camps in Tunisia – the seventh day

Hossam El -Din Al -Jababli, a spokesman for the General Administration of the National Guard in Tunisia, confirmed that the process of evacuating the camps of African -Sahara countries in Al -Amra and Jabanana (Sfax), which started on Thursday, is continuing.

Hossam El -Din Al -Jababli said that most of those present in the camps expressed their desire to return voluntary to their native.

Al -Ghbabli added that these irregular African immigrants were directed, and most of them had appealed to international organizations to ensure their return to their home after they were impossible to cross towards Europe.

He pointed to the presence of many queues at the present time for the African desert countries in front of the headquarters of the Red Crescent Organization, the International Organization for Migration and Security headquarters in Sfax, who expressed their desire for their voluntary return and temporarily accommodation until their return.

He stated that the issue is subject to personal interest by the President of the Republic, both through daily follow -up with the major security leaders in Sfax, as well as through personal coordination and follow -up with countries and organizations concerned with immigration regarding the voluntary return of these irregular African immigrants.

He stated that the camp evacuation was launched on Thursday, and that the largest camp of about 4,000 people had been removed in a peaceful way.

He explained that the operation is continuing in an upward format until all of it is evacuated at the earliest time.

He also pointed out that the evacuation, removal of camps and sterilization takes place without security intervention and in the presence of the representatives of the Red Crescent and the Ministry of Health and Civil Protection, which provided aid to some of them while evacuating the random camps from agricultural lands.

He stated that there is coordination with the regional authorities to temporarily accommodate pregnant women and children.
