Trump agrees to sell 20,000 offensive rifles to Israel .. Know the details – the seventh day

The administration of US President Donald Trump has moved forward by selling more than 20 thousand American -made offensive rifles to Israel last month, prompting the deal that was postponed by the administration of his predecessor Joe Biden due to fears of its use by the Israeli extremist settlers.

According to a document seen by “Reuters” and a source familiar with the matter, the US State Department sent a notification to Congress on March 6 on a $ 24 million deal, claiming that the end user would be the Israeli police.

The Hebrew newspaper “Gorzalem Post” described the sale of guns “with small compared to weapons worth billions of dollars in Washington.”

The notification of Congress, issued on March 6, claimed that “the American government took into account political, military and economic considerations, human rights and reducing armaments.”

The US State Department did not respond to the request to comment when asked whether the administration had requested guarantees from Israel on the use of weapons.

The Biden Administration was hosted by selling the deal due to fears that weapons could end in the hands of Israeli settlers, who are carrying out attacks on the Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, and imposed sanctions on individuals and entities accused of acts in the West Bank.

The sale of guns was postponed after democratic legislators objected and asked for information on how Israel used it, and in the end, Congress committees agreed to the deal, but the Biden administration kept it.

On his first day, on January 20, Trump issued an executive order that cancels US sanctions imposed on Israeli settlers, and since then, his administration has agreed to sell billions of dollars in weapons to Israel.

Trump has established close ties with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, pledged to support Israel in its war on Gaza, and in some cases, his administration has moved forward in arms sales to Israel despite the demand of democratic legislators to stop it temporarily until more information was received.

Yesterday, Thursday, the US Senate rejected an overwhelming majority in an attempt to prevent $ 8.8 billion in arms sales of Israel due to human rights concerns, as it voted with a majority of 82 votes compared to 15 votes and 83 votes compared to 15 votes to reject two decisions not to agree to huge bombs and other offensive military equipment.

Senator Bernie Sanders, a Senate member of Vermont State and the independent of the Democrats Bloc, presented these decisions.

The violence of the Israeli settlers witnessed an escalation before the war erupted on Gaza, and has been exacerbated for more than a year.

The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volcker Turk, revealed that 909 Palestinian martyrs occurred in the occupied West Bank only since October 7, 2023, due to the violence of settlers backed by Israeli forces, warning of unprecedented escalation in human rights violations.

Israeli National Security Minister Intar bin Jafir, an extremist right -wing member of the Netanyahu government, also supervises the police.
